We don't invent a credit currency. A credit is a US dollar, every generation has a price, and the price comes off your balance when it's done.

Each price is for the settings named beside the model. Balances are kept to a hundredth of a cent, which is why a price can have four decimals. Prices change when models change, and the Studio always shows the current one before you run.

Longer clips, larger sizes and audio change a price. The Studio shows the price for your settings before you run.
Packs work on every plan, Free included. Included credits are spent first, so a pack only gets touched when the month's credits are gone.
Every company starts with a limit of 10 USD a day. The owner or an admin changes it on the Billing page: up to 50 USD a day on Free and Starter, up to the whole balance on Pro.
Your balance is the cap. You spend what you put in, and nothing is billed after the fact.
A request that would go past your balance or your daily limit is refused before anything is spent, with a sentence that says what to do next.
Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, with credits granted as before until then. At the end, included credits you haven't used expire. Credits you bought in packs stay. From then on you're on Free: pay as you go, at the Free prices, with a daily limit of at most 50 USD.
Changed your mind before the period ends? Take the cancellation back and nothing changes.
The switch happens at the end of the period you paid for. Until then you get 39 USD of credits a month, after it 19 USD. Credits that rolled over expire at the switch, because rolling over is what Pro adds. A daily limit above 50 USD comes down to 50 USD.
At once, as soon as the payment for the change goes through. The month's credits are topped up by the difference (20 USD) for the share of the month that's left, and from the next month you get 39 USD. What you hold rolls over from then.
No new credits are granted while a renewal is unpaid. You keep the subscriber prices while the payment is retried, and running jobs are not touched. Once it's paid, the month's credits arrive.
If the payment can't be collected at all, the subscription ends: included credits that are left expire, bought credits stay, and you're on Free, pay as you go.
When a subscription payment is refunded in full, the unused included credits of the months that payment covered are taken back, never more than the amount refunded. Nothing is taken for credits you already spent. For that time you're on Free, pay as you go.
A partial refund takes no credits back.
Packs: never. Starter's included credits expire at the end of each month. Pro's roll over, up to 3 months' worth in total (117 USD). Included credits are always spent before bought ones.
On an annual plan the credits still arrive month by month, 12 times.
For as long as the subscription runs without a break. It ends when the subscription ends: a cancellation that ran out, or a payment that could not be collected. Taking a cancellation back in time keeps it, and so does a failed payment that is recovered. A new subscription after that is at the price of that day.
No. Nothing is deleted, hidden or frozen. Every character and saved workflow stays usable and editable. You only can't create another one until you're under the limit or subscribe again.
